It is one of the most important archaeological sites in Santorini with temples, theatres and ancient cemeteries. 200m up Mesa Vouno is the tiny chapel, Panagia Katefiani, which became a refuge when Perissa was under attack or under threat from a volcanic eruption.
• Museum of The Minerals and Fossils of Thera: Travel 1.5 billion years back in time and learn more about Ancient Thera and how it became to be.
• Basilica of Agia Irini: At the foot of Mesa Vouno, visit the Basilica that gave Santorini its name. Dating back to the 5th century, it is a piece of Santorini’s history that you must see.
